The Jacalenagirls goes fishing :-)
Long long time ago there were four little girls up on the cost of Norway who all loved to go fishing with their parents. They learned how to patiently sit in a boat out on a fjord and wait for the fishes to bite on the hooks.
If somebody asked them what they had been doing in their summer holiday they all answered: «WE WENT FISHING» and if somebody asked them «so, what did you do with the fish you catches?»» they would all answer «WE EATE IT» because little girls like the Jacalenagirls didn’t only love to go fishing, they also loved to eat fish.
Like all little girls did also this Jacalenagirls grow up and to be honest, during the time they were teenager did they not actually think much about fishing fish. They did much rather «fish» some new boyfriends, boyfriends that didn’t always get their parents approval. But did they care? No off course not, they were much more adult than their parents actually understood and did all they could to prove that their parents were wrong.
As it is with young girls did also the Jacalenagirls for a while grow in different directions, but although they ended up taking different studies and living on totally different places on this planet, they always kept contact to each other and they always were there for each other no matter what happened.
Many years went by, and they had all grown up to be four adult women when one of them invites the rest of the group for a long weekend out on her parents cottage. This cottage didn’t only lay on a beautiful small island, it also had a boat.
So after that they had been relaxing for some days and also had been taking some small trips by boat to the other small islands around did one of them late on evening get a brilliant idea…
…»LET’S GO FISHING»!!!
Said and done…
…and not many minutes later were all four Jacalenagirls ready for their next fishing trip. They actually didn’t understand why none of them hadn’t got this great idea earlier!
They were all very exciting to find out who would catch the first fish and they were making big planes how to prepare the fish later on and if they got many fishes what to cook the next day!
All of them knew they had to be patient before the first fish would bite one of the hooks and they was sitting there telling old stories about their many fishing trips as a child, waiting, waiting and waiting for the first bite…
«YES, I HAVE ONE ON THE HOOK» suddenly one of them said, and started to drag it up from the water. «Yes, yes, yes, I almost have him, who of you want to kill him for me?»
Suddenly all girls turned very silent. Kill a fish? Me, do you mean I shall kill the fish for you?
All of them looked at each other and suddenly did they realize that fishing and killing was to absolutely different things. To do some fishing you only need a fishing root and a hook, but to kill a fish, the fish they just had been catching..
…for THAT did all the Jacalenagirls actually need their mums and dads.
So luckily enough one of the Jacalenagirls had pity with the tiny fish lying in the middle of the boat struggling for life. She managed to put enough courage together to stop his pain, begging for mercy while she did it.
To make a long story short, instead of nice fish the next day did the Jacalenagirls have to go by boat to the next supermarket and buy food that they could prepare without having to kill it first. And if you would ever meet them out on the ocean again in a boat, there will be two opportunities:
They have a «killer» on board or are just listening to the sound of the ocean mixed with a good portion of laughter because one of them is telling this old story again :-)
